PSA Oxygen Concentrator
A Pressure Swing Adsorption oxygen generator, feeds 90%+ purity oxygen to corona-discharge ozone generators in mineral water plants.
PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) Oxygen Concentrators produce 90%+ purity O₂ from compressed air using zeolite molecular-sieve beds. The process alternates pressure between two beds, adsorbing nitrogen on one bed while desorbing it from the other, producing a continuous oxygen stream.
In beverage plants, PSA O₂ feeds the corona-discharge ozone generator. Higher-purity O₂ feed produces higher-concentration ozone (10-12% by weight) more efficiently than air-fed ozone (3-4% by weight).
Sizing: 1 g/h ozone needs roughly 8-10 LPM oxygen (at 90% purity). A 12 g/h ozone generator needs ~100-120 LPM PSA O₂, typically a 3-5 kW PSA unit.
PSA units have very low operating cost (electricity only) and a 10+ year service life. They are the standard oxygen source for any ozone generator above 4 g/h.
