Tetra Pak / Aseptic Carton
A multi-layer aseptic carton-pack format using paperboard + LDPE + aluminium foil, popular for shelf-stable juice and dairy in India.
Tetra Pak (and competitor SIG Combibloc) is an aseptic carton-pack format using a multi-layer laminate of paperboard + LDPE + aluminium foil. The package is sterilised in-line (H₂O₂ + heat), filled with aseptically-sterilised product, and sealed, all in a continuous machine.
The result: shelf-stable beverage with 6-12+ month shelf life, no refrigeration needed.
Common formats in India:
- 200ml prism (school packs, ~₹15-25 MRP)
- 1L brick (family packs)
- 250ml slim (premium juice)
- 6L bag-in-box (HORECA / institutional)
The carton-fill machine itself is supplied by Tetra Pak / SIG; the upstream juice processing (fruit handling, blending, UHT pasteurisation, aseptic buffer) is what we supply. Integrated correctly, the upstream process and downstream carton fill operate as a single continuous aseptic system.
