Shrink Wrapping

Shrink Wrapping is the standard secondary-packaging method for water, juice, and CSD bottles in India. Bottles are arranged in a 2x3, 3x4, or 4x6 layout (commonly 12-pack or 24-pack), wrapped with LDPE shrink film, and passed through a heat tunnel that contracts the film into a tight, transport-ready bundle. Typical line elements: - **Bundle former:** orients bottles into the desired layout - **Film unwind & sealer:** wraps film around the bundle - **Heat tunnel:** 175–195°C, conveyor speed matched to film grade - **Cooling section:** sets the shrunk film Film thickness: 35–55 microns for water bottle bundling; 50–80 microns for jar handles. Output: a 60 BPM bottling line typically pairs with a shrink wrapper rated 60 packs/minute (12-pack format = 720 bottles/min capable). Most modern wrappers are servo-driven for consistent film placement.
