BPM (Bottles Per Minute)
BPM is the standard rating unit for filling and bottling machines, the number of bottles the machine can fill per minute.
BPM, or Bottles Per Minute, is the universal output metric used to size and price filling and bottling lines in the packaged drinking water, juice, and CSD industries. A 60 BPM line, for example, fills 60 bottles every minute (3,600 bottles per hour, ~28,800 bottles per 8-hour shift at 100% efficiency).
Real-world output is typically 78–88% of nameplate BPM after accounting for changeovers, planned downtime, rejections, and start/stop cycles. When sizing a plant, always apply the **80% rule**, your annual / monthly output target divided by 0.80 gives your true required BPM.
Common Indian configurations: 30 BPM (entry-level, semi-auto), 60 BPM (most installed), 90 BPM (regional brand upgrade), 120 BPM (national brand), 240 BPM (flagship). Each tier triggers different RO sizing, manpower, civil footprint, and capex bands.
