FRP induced-draft cooling towers with circulation pumps, side-stream filtration and chemical dosing, for water-cooled chillers, compressors and process cooling.

Water-cooled chillers and compressors need somewhere to reject heat, and that is the cooling tower. It is a simple machine that fails in predictable ways — scaling, biological fouling and drift losses — all of which are managed by water treatment rather than by the tower itself. We supply the tower with side-stream filtration to remove suspended solids, a dosing system for scale and biocide control, and correctly sized circulation pumps. Legionella control matters and is handled through the biocide regime and a defined cleaning schedule, which we include as an SOP.

Common questions.

How much water does a cooling tower consume?+

Roughly 1% of circulation per 5.5°C of cooling range, through evaporation, plus blowdown. In water-stressed districts this is a real operating cost and sometimes a regulatory one, which is why air-cooled chillers are worth evaluating.

Why does our tower keep fouling?+

Almost always water treatment. Without side-stream filtration and a proper dosing regime, suspended solids settle in the basin and biological growth colonises the fill. Both cut heat rejection and raise chiller power draw before anyone notices.
