What licences do I need for a water plant in North-East India?

A BIS licence under IS 14543, an FSSAI manufacturing licence, state pollution control board consent to establish and operate, a CGWB or state groundwater NOC for the borewell, factory and trade licences, and GST registration. Our turnkey scope includes preparing the BIS and FSSAI files.

What capacity should I install?

For a single-district launch, 30 BPM. For multi-district regional distribution, 60 BPM is the most-installed configuration in India. 90 and 120 BPM suit inter-state and modern-trade supply. If you are testing the market or leading with 20L jars, a semi-automatic 1000 LPH line is the lower-risk start.

How much space is needed?

Roughly 1,500–2,000 sq.ft. of covered shed for a 30 BPM line, 3,000–4,000 for 60 BPM and 5,000–7,000 for 120 BPM, plus stores, a QC lab and finished-goods space. We issue a layout drawing against your actual plot before you commit to civil work.

Do you handle high-TDS or iron-heavy borewell water?

Yes. Twin-pass RO with high-recovery staging handles feedwater up to around 3,500 ppm. Iron, fluoride and arsenic are removed upstream of the RO through oxidation and selective adsorption — treating them at the membrane instead is the most common cause of premature membrane replacement.

Machinery commissioning runs 6–8 weeks for a 30 BPM line, 8–11 weeks for 60 BPM and 12–16 weeks for 120 BPM, from purchase order. BIS certification runs in parallel and is usually the longer path, so plan the licence application at the same time as the plot, not after commissioning.
